Mr. Josh WegerDear Bells ISD parents and community members:

The purpose of this letter is to express my excitement and gratitude in being named the superintendent of Bells ISD. When this district offered me the principal position at Pritchard Junior High in 2013, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to rejoin the community I grew up in, to be around the people I played ball with and attended church with growing up. My kids have been able to attend the same school that my grandfather, mother, and other close family members attended. My wife and I were able to build a home on the family land that means so much to us. I have been able to coach kids in BYS on the same field in which I developed my love for sports. I love this town and this school. What this community has already given me is not taken lightly, and I am humbled and honored to be in this new position.

There is no doubt in my mind that education is where God intended me to be. I have 23 years of experience, and I have loved my time in every single position served in. I have been a mathematics teacher, coach, athletic director, alternative education administrator, junior high and high school principal, and most recently, an assistant superintendent. Regardless of the position, I have always worked as hard as I can to help students learn, grow, and become the best person they can be. This new position will be no different. I intend to put students first, to support our staff members in every way, and to partner with our parents and community members to provide the best education possible. Our task is to build an environment where everyone, students and employees, can do their absolute best work.

One of the major factors for Bells ISD becoming one of the top schools in North Texas is our students. We have wonderful kids in Bells, and that is due to the teachers, parents, grandparents, and community members that pour so much into our young ones. Our students are hard-working, giving, intelligent, and exhibit old-school values. I see them doing remarkable things every day, and they deserve the best we can give. No amount of work will be too much for our new leadership team if there is a way to improve our district and the educational experience for our students. We will strive to build on what has been accomplished and to navigate our district through the upcoming challenges and opportunities. We will work not only to sustain the wonderful successes we are enjoying at this time, but to also focus on continuous improvement.

Thank you again for all that you do, and I look forward to continuing our partnership and efforts to make Bells the best place to be!

Sincerely,

Josh Weger, Superintendent
